About us

Christine - The Owner

Hello, my name is Christine and I have been a professional pet sitter since the mid-nineties in Martin County. I am a huge dog lover and have owned several of my own Australian Shepherds over the past 30+ years. I was also very active in dog rescue, so the canine industry overall is a huge passion of mine. Here is my story…

It was kind of by accident that I fell into the pet industry. I was a caretaker for an estate in Loblolly Pines Community in Hobe Sound.  At the end of every season, I would have extra time in my schedule and would take on extra part-time jobs while my clients were away back home. A dog trainer friend lived on my street and was looking for someone to take care of her business while she was away. I thought to myself, “What a great job taking care of people’s pets while they were away.” So, I started out with about 3 to 5 extra dogs in our home, boarding and also walking during the day.  My husband Mark was a Martin County firefighter, so he was gone a few nights a week which made it a bit easier for us taking on more dogs into our own home, and it wasn’t constant. We didn’t have children of our own, so the pups became like family right away, just like my own fur babies.

Fast forward a few years, and unfortunately, my dog boarding boss became terminal from cancer. I was then offered an opportunity to go full-time with her clients so they wouldn’t miss a beat in coverage or care. So, without hesitation, I took on her full book of business all on my own. This was a huge help to my boss, who then gave me a beautiful letter of support with many blessings for future success in running the business and taking care of the Loblolly community.

I was officially “full-time as a pack dog walker and pet sitter” which turned into my dream job. I then became “The Dog Whisperer of Loblolly” which was their nickname for me. The female Cesar Milan in their eyes. I’ll take it! I loved that they loved me and trusted me with their beloved pups who were also like members of their family.

So fast forward again, and it’s 2023 with several years of experience under my belt, I hear about a dog boarding & daycare kennel that is being restored in Hobe Sound.  The owner was looking to find someone to “bring it back to life” with him. Someone who really had a passion for the industry and cared deeply for other people’s dogs.

At first, I was very intimated by the extent of work it needed to turn the property into what I considered acceptable for dog boarding, but after a few months of thinking and praying, I felt this was the next best move for me and aligned with the mission/vision of the property owner.

With the help of a few incredible clients, my husband, and my wonderful friends, we have given the property a complete facelift into a “home away from home haven” for furry four-legged friends. The entire property including the dog part is just under two acres. A little bit of paradise out here in Western Hobe Sound on the Treasure Coast of Florida.
